Deuces Wild Video Poker – Rules, Odds and Strategy
The thing i love about deuces wild video poker is that its a very simple game and is fantastic for video poker newbies.
The rules are easy to learn, they are as follows:
- You are dealt 5 cards.
- You then decide which cards you want to hold.
- You then draw 5 cards (Minus the cards you decide to hold).
- You get paid based on how strong of a poker hand you make.
In Deuces Wild, deuces are well… wild. This means that a deuce can be used as a substitute for any card in the deck. So for example, on your first 5 cards you draw KK257. Because deuces are wild, you have 3 of a kind. IE 3 kings. You hold the KK and 2 and draw on the other two cards. Luckily you draw another 2 and have 4 of a kind and are paid out accordingly.

Here are some quick tips for doing well at Deuces Wild Poker.
- Never discard a deuce, always hold it.
- Never keep 2 pair. Doing this eliminates you from getting 4 of a kind.
- Always keep a pair over a 4 card flush or straight. (Contrary to jacks or better strategy)
- Don’t hold on to Ace or King high, there are no rewards for making a high pair (Like in jacks or better).
